Timoptic XE Nonselective beta-adrenergic blocker without AGR. When applied topically reduces intraocular pressure by reducing aqueous humor formation and a small increase in the outflow. By lowering the intraocular pressure does not affect the accommodation and pupil size, so there is no deterioration in visual acuity and reduces the quality of color and night vision. Effect appears within 20 minutes after instillation, the maximum effect – after 1-2 hours, duration – 24 hours
Indications Timoptic XE:
Intraocular hypertension: open-angle glaucoma, secondary glaucoma (uveal, afakicheskaya, post-traumatic), as a subsidiary LS: angle-closure glaucoma (in combination with miotikami), congenital glaucoma (in ineffectiveness of other therapeutic measures), including buphthalmos, a sharp rise in intraocular pressure.
Contra Timoptic XE:
Hypersensitivity, degenerative processes in rogovitse.C caution. Side effects of Timoptic XE:

Slowing of psychomotor responses. Allergic reactions (including urticaria). Overdosage. Dosage and administration Timoptic XE:
Adults and children over 10 years, instilled in the conjunctival sac of a cap of 0.25% solution, 2 times a day, with lack of effectiveness – 1 cap of 0.5% solution, 2 times a day. With the normalization of intraocular pressure maintenance dose – 1 cap of 0.25%, 1 per day. The difference of expression of two concentrations of 10-15%. Infants and children up to 10 years – a drop of 0.25% solution, 2 times a day.
Cautions Timoptic XE:
Be careful when driving at night, and avoid activities, places high demands adaptation to low light. Monitoring efficiency is recommended in about 3-4 weeks after initiation of therapy (no earlier than 1-2 weeks). With prolonged use Timoptic XE possible weakening effect. Interaction Timoptic XE:
Epinephrine, pilocarpine, systemic beta-blockers increase the effect. You can not apply to antipsychotic drugs (neuroleptics) and anxiolytic drugs (tranquilizers).
